Guilty about all your Social Media screen time?

If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent many a pandemic day entertained by everything from“ bored in the house” cats,

to failed home-cooking experiments,

to DIY art projects that you know you’ll never take up, and kitchen gardening that brings you rare satisfaction every 6 weeks when a single carrot decides to delight you with its appearance.

Then you’re probably wondering whether it has been the ultimate summer of non-productivity (aside from the money you saved on carrot), well I’ve got good news for you!

What if we called all this time you spent on social media “research”?!
You’re either smirking sarcastically now, or feeling slightly relieved (the same feeling I have every time I hear about a successful Covid19 vaccine)! But no really, the hours you put into browsing social media could actually prove to be very useful if you decide to make a career out of it.

Yes, you could have a steady job and get paid (pretty well) to spend those extra hours on Social Media, and there are actually a variety of career options, Content Creator, Social Media Manager, Search Engine Optimizer, Digital Marketing Manager and Content Strategist to name a few!

But you don’t have the time to go back to school for two years to qualify for these jobs?

You may not need to! The combination of your daily browsing (research) and a part-time comprehensive online course like the one I took up in digital marketing – Udacity’s Digital Marketing Nano Degree, might just be enough to get you started!

Here’s a job you may land just by doing your own experiments with content and strategy online and bringing results to the table as your resume!

Even if you’re not ready to quit your job yet, a nano degree like this gives you enough insight into the prospect of working in the digital marketing sector without taking up too much of your time, and prepares you for the job along the way!

And the best part is the team at Udacity gives you real time feedback on your projects and mentors you whenever needed, so you can be sure you’ll get some real learning done!

So what are you planning to do this weekend? Watch kids react to food from around the world,

or do that, and then invest an hour in a course that might get you a job in Digital Marketing

Last slice pizza toast!

Here’s a quick breakfast treat fashioned out of simple ingredients any foodie would probably find in their fridge!

My favorite slice of bread is the last one, so this is the kind of breakfast you can have even if your greedy roomies have finished most of the bread! You would however need a toaster oven or a regular big oven!  Alright enough chatter, i’m hungry and would like to update this recipe quickly before i really go to eat !

Last slice pizza toast

  • the last slice of bread
  • One small fresh tomato sliced
  • grated mozzarella cheese (about a tablespoon)
  • marinara sauce (or any store bought pizza sauce/ ketchup if all else fails)
  • fresh basil leaves
  • oregano seasoning

Method :

  1. Spread your marinara sauce or pizza sauce generously on the last slice of bread.
  2. Randomly arrange the basil leaves on top of the sauce.
  3. Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese evenly on top of the leaves.
  4. Arrange the tomato slices over the cheese.
  5. Season with oregano or any pizza/pasta seasoning you have lying around. (add pepper or chilli flakes if you like spice)
  6. All set, put it in your oven/toaster oven and wait till the cheese melts completely, and then 1 minute more to get that crispy crunchy texture in the toast. Now relish!

  • This recipe works best with the last slice because it needs that thickness to survive all the toppings, or else you’ll have soggy toast,  and nobody likes soggy toast.
  • It might seem odd to you that i asked to place the leaves before the cheese, but i find placing it on the top does nothing but burn them to a crisp, keeping them in between the sauce and the cheese brings out their wonderful aroma and gives you something awesome to bite into.
  • Don’t share!

Abundant love

In the comfort of vanilla scented pages of old books,
flowing in tranquil rivers and babbling brooks,

Rustling through the leaves of  blossoming trees,
in the sweetest bird songs, in the buzzing of the bees

Amidst gliding clouds and sunny blue skies,
in such abundance my love for you lies…

Singing bowl magic

If you haven’t experienced the magic of a singing bowl before, you’re missing something incredible! This beautiful instrument is used by Tibetan monks to silence their thoughts while they meditate!

Singing bowls date back as early as 500BC, brought to India through Tibet. The frequencies created by these bowls have shown to centre your energy and create an easy path to meditation. They can also reduce stress and anxiety in just a few minutes!

Here’s a short clip for you to sample the sound:

If you like what you heard here, you will absolutely love it in reality! Just a few minutes of playing the singing bowl and you will find all the stress leaving your body and mind!

And no, you do not need to be certified to play this instrument, go ahead and try it out for yourself! You can buy one very similar to mine on Amazon right here! I have made sure to recommend a brand that i trust, and the best part is, it is returnable, so if for some reason you don’t like the sound, you can go ahead and return it! This is the only brand that seems to offer that!

So what are you waiting for?! Click here 🙂

If you do purchase the bowl, do let me know how you felt after playing, and if you have any questions!

love always

The sunshiny girl

Flowers in my basket!

Impatiens in a railing basket

As you guys will soon find out, i am obsessed with flowers, i thought this would be the best thing to start with!

I have always loved the European style of flowers hanging down the window-sill, ever so romantic! So i just had to re-create that romance in my modest balcony garden! A little hunting on amazon and i found exactly what i was looking for! This charming white planter!

They come as a set of two for Rs 1262, that might seem pricey, but i feel they’re absolutely worth it, i’ve had them out even during monsoon, the paint hasn’t peeled and there’s no rust in sight, also they look so pretty!!  I’m sure fellow garden enthusiasts will agree!

I planted these perennial Impatiens, three in each pot can grow safely! Try planting three different colors like i have for a little extra beauty!

You can find these Ivory Oval planters by Trustbasket right here .

Hi Y’all!

My name is Aditi Chengappa, and this blog has been waiting to happen for ages! Here i am finally getting down to it!

Some of you already know me from films, and Instagram or Facebook.

But for those of you don’t, here’s a little introduction!

When i was doing my honours in English Literature i had no idea that i would be acting in films right after I graduated! But that’s what happened…

I am a trained musician and singer, not a trained actor, but life is unpredictable and i just went with it! The film industry is a real rollercoaster, i learned lots of lessons, made some friends on the way, had my ego broken down and understood far deeply what i stood for.

That lead me to yoga! Yoga was always in my life, i met my guru, Himalayan Master- Bharat Thakur when i was only 10!
At this point my mom started teaching yoga, and i followed whenever i could! It always felt wonderful, and so it came to me naturally when i found myself truly stressed out with the world of films! I decided i wanted to switch careers to something that was healthier and more rewarding to my mind, body and soul.

I got certified as a yoga teacher and began teaching ever since, its been the most beautiful journey of falling in love with myself and life, and all the positivity you have enjoyed in my posts on various social media platforms stems from my yoga practice and my work with my Guru. I want to share as much as possible, all the little things that make a difference to my life and bring me happiness, which brings me to this blog!

There are SO many things that bring me great joy, in nature, in food, in fun stuff i pamper myself with, so I want to use this blog to share with you all the things i love, let’s talk about yoga, meditation, music, food, games, beauty, travel, and experiences!

Welcome to my world, i hope it at least brings a smile to your face if nothing else!

lots of love, Aditi
